HUNTERDON COUNTY:
Califon Borough – The Annual Califon Memorial Day Parade will be held at 11 AM on Monday, May 28th. Don’t miss this annual fun-filled event. califonborough-nj.org
Flemington – Annual Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 28, 2018. Participants will step off from the corner of Church Street and Main Street at 10 a.m., then continue down Main Street to the Monument. Anyone wishing to take part in the parade or who wants more information can call the VFW’s Bob Godown at 908-391-3399.
MORRIS COUNTY:
Morris Plains – The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. on May 26 the corner of Glenbrook Road and Mountain Way. morrisplainsboro.org
Parsippany – Parade starts at 12 noon at North Beverwyck Rd. at Katherine Dr. and ends at the reviewing stand on North Beverwyck Rd. at Volunteers Park. parsippany.net
Rockaway – Parade starts at 11: 30 a.m. Fleetwood and Edith, ends at gazebo on Chestnut St. rockawaytownship.org
Roxbury Township – The parade will start at 10:00 a.m. on May 28 at the corner of Meeker Street amd Hillside Avenue. roxburynj.us.com
Washington Township – Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Washington Township Memorial site on May 26 (Rock Spring Park). Ceremony will begin at 12:00 p.m. (Rain or Shine). Guest speaker will be Col Matthew G. Kelly, USMC.
WARREN COUNTY:
Blairstown – Noon Sunday, May 27, The Givens-Belet Post 258 American Legion sponsors the event at Cedar Ridge Cemetery, 117 Route 94, Blairstown. Memorial services will start the event, followed by a parade, finishing at Footbridge Park. Trophies will be awarded and refreshments will be served.
Delaware – the public is invited to the annual Memorial Day Community Picnic on Monday, May 28th starting at noon at The Ramsayburg Historic Homestead on the Delaware River located at 140 Route 46 at the junction of Rt 46 and Hope-Ramsaysburg Road .
Hosted by the Knowlton Township Historic Commission (KTHC), the annual Memorial Day Community Picnic is FREE of charge and all are welcome to attend. The event will take place rain or shine both inside the historic barns and on the spacious park-like grounds.
The community is asked to bring their own beverage, lawn chair/blanket and a covered dish that will be shared with all who attend. Grills will be fired up and available for public use; plates and cutlery will be provided.
The inaugural flag raising at the newly installed flagpole will take place at 1:00. The flagpole, generously donated by the First Hope Bank in Blairstown, is now a permanent fixture at the site. Scout Troop #141 will perform the Flag Raising Ceremony with the Belvidere High School Band performing. Dr. Dennis Melillo will offer historic tributes to Memorial Day. Hackettstown – Memorial Motor Madness Car Show, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 27: hosted by the Hackettstown Rotary Club at the Mars Chocolate Wrigley Confectionery facility on High Street. hackettstownrotary.com
Hackettstown – 150th Memorial Day Parade, 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 28: hosted by the American Legion Blue Ridge Post No. 164. Parade will start by the post office and proceed down Route 46 to Mountain Avenue, concluding with a service at Union Cemetery. The parade’s marshal is John Fazekas, a World War II Veteran and longtime Hackettstown resident.
Lopatcong Township – Memorial Day and Veterans Rally Point Dedication Ceremony, 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26: youth baseball game honoring veterans and food served at Lopatcong Municipal Park. At 8:00 p.m., a procession, featuring various veterans, begins; U.S. Naval Sea Cadets, Lehigh Valley Division; a bagpiper, law enforcement and scouts carrying POW/MIA flags and military branch flags. A U.S. Army National Guard Blackhawk Helicopter plans to land just prior to the event at 7 p.m. Rain or shine; bring chairs and blankets.
