The RNJ Main Studio was filled with young broadcasters on Thursday morning – seventh grade students from the Black River Middle School in Chester. Their English teacher, Joe Pizzo, assigns them a project to research, write, and then record thirty-second Public Service Announcements – PSAs – as part of their classwork. After they are all recorded, Joe sends a link to the audio to Morning Mike, who selects the best ones. These students then take a mini-field trip to the RNJ studios to share their work with RNJ’s Morning Program audience.
Attending on this Thursday were: Anushka Elavia, who addressed pet adoption; Emma Cingari, who discussed world hunger; Ben Hodges focused on bike safety; Anika Shah encouraged listeners to “Save Our Rainforests”; and Ana Clara Monaco, reminded young people to vote in the next election.
Principal Andrew White accompanied the students because Joe Pizzo was unable to attend.
