Woman charged in heroin distribution investigation

ROCKAWAY BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) – A two month joint investigation into the distribution of heroin in the Rockaway Borough area has led to the arrest of an individual, according to Rockaway Borough Chief Conrad Pepperman and Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp.

Ashley N. Desalvo was arrested on May 30 by the Rockaway Borough Police Department and charged with two counts of third-degree distribution of under one and ½ ounces of heroin, third-degree possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance heroin in a quantity of under one and ½ ounces, and third-degree possession of heroin.

The investigation culminated in the seizure of $779.47, and a 2001 Mercury Sable, along with under one ½ ounce of heroin.

Subsequent to Bail Reform Desalvo was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility after a pre-trial hearing. Desalvo was detained on Wednesday, June 6.

The Rockaway Borough Police Department thanked the Jefferson Twp Police Department, the Dover Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 for their assistance in the execution of the search warrants.
