Woman accused of shoplifting, assaulting Walmart loss prevention officer

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Hunterdon County woman is facing charges after she is accused of shoplifting and assaulting a Walmart loss prevention officer.

Clairessa T. Robinson, 47, of High Bridge was charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree shoplifting.

On June 27 at 4:34 p.m., police were called to the Flemington Walmart, located at 152 Route 31, for a report of an assault on a loss prevention employee by a shoplifting suspect, police said.

Robinson reportedly had stolen $492.76 worth of store merchandise, police said.

When confronted, Robinson pushed a cart striking the loss prevention officer causing the officer to fall to the ground, police said.

Robinson was lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail.
