SPARTA TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Two people were injured in a crash involving a motorcycle in Sparta Township Thursday evening, according to Lieutenant John Lamon.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Route 15 and Wilson Dr at around 6:30 p.m.
The motorcycle was travelling south on Route 15 when a vehicle travelling north attempted to make a left hand turn onto Wilson Dr. As the vehicle was making the turn the motorcycle crashed into the vehicle.
One of the motorcycle riders sustained head injuries and the other had pelvic injuries. Both were flown to an area hospital, Lamon said.
The riders on the motorcycle and the driver of the vehicle were not identified. It was also not known if the driver of the vehicle was injured.
The driver of the vehicle will be cited for failure to yield, Lamon said.
