On the Wednesday edition of the RNJ Morning Program, Morning Mike gave up one shoe – to help Dr. Helene Nguyen, from Feet ’N’ Beyond in Hackettstown, demonstrate the SteriShoe. SteriShoe is a device that uses UV light to kill up to 99.9% of the germs in your shoes. During the 15-minute process, it also dries and deodorizes. Killing germs greatly reduces the risk of problems, such as toenail fungus and athlete’s foot. Plus, drying out the inside of your shoes makes it harder for germs to grow. Dr. Helene even brought along one of her sandals to demonstrate how the SteriShoe works on any kind of footwear. (And, yes, sandals benefit from the UV sterilization too!).
