Hackettstown burglar nabbed thanks to tips, police say

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) – Town police say tips received via social media helped nab a burglary suspect.

Hackettstown police said Wednesday that a 17-year-old male from Mansfield Township,N.J is accused of entering the Hatchery Hill School through a roof hatch on Tuesday, July 19. While the male was inside the school, the motion alarm was activated and he then left through a rear door, police said in a news release.

Town police on Friday posted photos of the alleged suspect that broke into the school located at 398 Fifth Avenue.

The Mansfield Township juvenile was charged with third degree burglary and fourth degree criminal trespassing. The juvenile was released pending a court appearance.

“The Hackettstown Police Department would like to thank everyone who came forward with information regarding this incident,” police said.
