HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) – The high school and middle school were placed on lockdown Thursday after police investigated a report of a person armed with a gun.
At 1:44 p.m., town police responded to the area of Washington St for a report of an armed person running through yards, police said.
The Hackettstown high school and middle school were placed in a lockdown while police investigated.
The individual was located and had in his possession an air soft handgun, however, the individual was just playing with his friend, police said.
The lockdown was lifted after a brief time and no charges have been filed.
