MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) – A township woman is accused of running a house of prostitution out of her Brock Lane home.
On Friday, September 30 at 5:53 p.m., a Mount Olive Twp police officer responded to the area of Brock Lane for the report of a suspicious male.
The officer located the male in the parking area and as the officer attempted to make contact with the male, he walked away from him and entered a residence, police said.
The officer followed him and knocked on the door of the residence.
The man, Matthew T Bishop, 42, answered the door and the officer also observed a woman, Melissa M. Bishop, 40, in the residence, police said.
Through a police investigation, it was discovered that the female was engaging in prostitution and was utilizing the residence for that purpose.
A consent search of the residence produced folds of heroin and hypodermic syringes.
Melissa Bishop was charged with promoting prostitution, running house of prostitution, and possession of heroin.
Matthew Bishop was charged with distribution of CDS, possession of heroin, and promoting prostitution.
Both were released pending a court hearing.
