HOPE TWP. – Continuing its long time tradition and commitment to making voters aware of area candidates each election year, the Hope Area Chamber of Commerce has scheduled this year’s Candidates Night for Wednesday Oct. 5.
The event will be held at the Inn at Millrace Pond in the Tavern beginning at 7 p.m. This is the only such scheduled opportunity for voters to hear directly from candidates at one time.
The evening is not a debate, rather an opportunity for each candidate to gives voters a look into what they want to accomplish should they get elected (or re-elected). There is also an opportunity for attendees to speak with the candidates one on one after the opening forum.
Among those candidates scheduled to attend are:
Sheriffs race: Jim McDonald R, Joe Dewitt I
Freeholders race: Jason Sarnoski R, Carol Cook D
Hope Township Committee: John Kruk, R Brian Kathenes D
Also, with the closing of Fulton Bank’s Hope Branch, Hope Chamber has invited to this event other area banks interested and committed to Hope area businesses as well as economic opportunities and growth for northwest Warren County.
