HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) – Hackettstown school officials have announced that a football player has developed the Hand, Foot and Mouth disease also known as Coxsackie virus.
The outbreaks have occurred at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, Pequannock, Kinnelon, High Point and Hunterdon High schools.
Hackettstown High School reported Thursday that one student-athlete on the football team developed the Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease.
The football game against Mount Olive that was scheduled for Friday has been postponed and will now be on Monday, October 10 at 7:00 p.m. Also, all cheerleading and marching band activities have been put on hold.
All student athletes should practice preventive hygiene including washing hands regularly and not sharing drinks, water bottles, etc.
