Hackettstown (Warren County) — Social media tips helped police arrest a 29-year-old woman who is accused of stealing a wallet from the Dairy Queen Fast Food Restaurant, according to police.
Monica Leitner of Mansfield Twp, NJ ,was arrested just hours after the police posted the incident on their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. An investigation conducted by the Hackettstown Detective Bureau along with social media tips helped identify Leitner as a suspect.
Leitner was charged with theft of property mislaid and was released pending a court appearance. All the contents inside the wallet were recovered, according to police. The Hackettstown Police Department would like to thank everyone who came forward with information regarding this incident.
On April 6, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., a wallet that a customer had left behind was stolen from the Dairy Queen located at 22 Route 57.
