MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. – Two Morris County residents have been indicted in Morris County on charges relating to the human trafficking of two underage girls, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Rockaway Township Police Chief Martin McParland, Jr. announced today.
Debbie Kooken, 43, of Boonton was indicted on four counts each of human trafficking, promoting prostitution, endangering the welfare of a child, conspiracy to commit human trafficking, and conspiracy to promote prostitution.
Aldophus Mims, 39, of Morris Plains was indicted on six counts of human trafficking, four counts of promoting prostitution, two counts of sexual assault, five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and four counts each of conspiracy to commit human trafficking, conspiracy to promote prostitution, and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.
These alleged acts occurred in Rockaway Township and Parsippany.
The alleged victims are two females, ages 15 and 17 at the time of the alleged events. The victims reported they were led to engage in prostitution by the two defendants between the dates of June 12, 2015 and June 18, 2015.
The 17 year-old victim alleged that Kooken would make arrangements for the victims to meet with several male clients at area hotels. Mims would then collect the money received after the sexual acts were completed.
The 15 year-old victim additionally disclosed that Mims engaged in sexual acts with her. In addition, both victims alleged that Mims provided them with heroin during this time period.
