MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – A 53-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested and another man taken to the hospital following a traffic dispute on Thursday afternoon.
At 1:10 p.m. on October 20, township police responded to the PNC Bank parking lot on route 57 for a report of a possible motor vehicle crash with a male subject laying on the ground.
Officers located a 67-year-old male laying on the pavement bleeding profusely from the back of his head, police said.
The male was having difficulty responding to Mansfield Township EMT’s and was then flown by helicopter to Morristown Medical Center for treatment, police said.
Through a police investigation, it was determined that there was a traffic dispute, not a crash. The victim was pushed by Michael Detommaso, 53, of Nazareth, PA, causing him to fall backwards striking his head on the ground, police said.
Detommaso was arrested and charged with simple assault. He was released pending a court appearance.
