HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) – Hackettstown police are reminding people to lock their car doors and take valuables inside due to recent car break-ins.
Police said the car break-ins have occurred on Hurley Drive, Seymour Road and Seymour Terrace. In all cases, the vehicles were left unlocked, police said.
There is one easy step to avoid becoming a victim: Lock your car doors, police said.
“It just takes a second for someone to look into a car and see something they want,” Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan said. “Even something minor as change in your cup holder can be enough for someone to break in and steal.”
Police are also urging people not to leave valuables (i.e. electronics, coins, purses, wallets) inside your vehicles.
