BLAIRSTOWN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – A North American Navion aircraft struck trees while landing at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Blairstown Airport, according to Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Jim Peters.
The pilot was extricated from the aircraft and flown by Atlantic Air 1 to Morristown Medical Center, Blairstown Twp police said.
The pilot’s condition is unknown.
The plane did leak fuel and the Warren County’s hazardous materials team responded to the scene to assist with the cleanup.
“The National Transportation Safety Board and The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate,” according to National Transportation Safety Board spokesperson Peter Knudson.
The Blairstown Township police, fire, Rescue Squad, OEM, FAA and the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office responded to the scene, police said.
