Warren County man arrested after drug trafficking investigation turns up heroin, stolen firearm

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – A Warren County man is facing drug and firearm charges after a four week undercover investigation into drug trafficking.

Michael Cedola Jr, 26, of Washington, NJ was charged Wednesday with various firearm and controlled dangerous substance related offenses following a four week undercover operation into drug trafficking in and around Washington, Warren County Prosecutor Richard Burke said.

The Warren County Tactical Response Team assisted in the execution of a search warrant at Cedola’s residence on Myrtle Ave, Washington. Authorities located at the residence various controlled dangerous substances and a stolen firearm was recovered, Burke said.

Cedola was charged with one count of second degree possession of a handgun while in the course of distributing or possessing with the intent to distribute CDS, one count of second degree possession of a handgun by a certain person not to possess a hand gun, one count of second degree illegal possession of a handgun, two counts of third degree possession of heroin, one count of third degree possession of a stolen handgun and two counts of third degree distribution or possession with the intent to distribute heroin.

Cedola’s first appearance was held Wednesday at Warren County Superior Court.

The investigation was conducted by the Washington Township Police Department and the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office-Narcotics Task Force.
