GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – An 18-year-old Stewartsville man is facing drug and alcohol charges after he was allegedly observed travelling 20 miles per hour over the speed limit.
On Thursday at 2:12 p.m., township police observed a 2016 Toyota traveling 60 in a 40 mile per hour zone on Greenwich Street. The vehicle, operated by Bernard Caffrey Jr., then entered the Greenwich Chase development, police said.
Shortly thereafter, Caffrey’s vehicle was found to be unoccupied on Lincoln Drive. He was subsequently located on a nearby street along with two other parties that were also in the vehicle, police said.
Upon further investigation, suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and alcohol were found in the vehicle, police said.
Caffrey was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol under the age of 21, obstructing the administration of law, hindering apprehension, speeding, reckless driving, CDS in a motor vehicle, failure to inspect and view obstruction.
Caffrey was later released on his own recognizance from the station and is to appear at the Greenwich Township. Municipal Court on March 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
