Third suspect arrested in 2016 Hackettstown robbery

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hackettstown police have arrested the third and final suspect in a robbery that occurred in June 2016.

On January 4, a warrant was issued for Tyrell D. Durham, 22, of Edwardsville, PA on charges of robbery, burglary and aggravated assault. He turned himself into the Hackettstown Police Department on Monday and was then taken to the Warren County Correctional Facility, police said.

The original incident was on June 19, 2016 at 10:30 p.m. when Kayla Rodriguez, 20, of Scranton, PA allegedly forged a relationship with the victim in order to set him up so her boyfriend Frank L. Williams JR, 20, of Wilkes-Barre, PA and Durham, her friend, could rob the victim, police said.

During the incident, Rodriguez entered the victim’s residence and checked the area prior to having Williams enter the home. Williams and Tyrell then allegedly forced their way into the residence, pushed the victim to the ground and punched the victim in the face and then demanded the victim’s money, police said.

In another incident on June 27, 2016 at 11:05 p.m., Rodriguez called another victim to help her with a car problem in municipal lot#3. While the victim was checking the engine area, the victim was approached by Williams, who was holding a gun to the victims back, and demanded his phone and cash. Franklin then demanded the victim to get into the vehicle but the victim broke free and ran away, police said.

Williams made off with the cellphone, valued at $250, and $800 in cash, police said.

Williams is charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and aggravated assault for the June 19 crime. He was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted kidnapping, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a handgun for the June 27 crime.

Williams was arrested on November 30, 2016 and was released under 24-hour medical care while he awaited a court date, police said.

Rodriguez is charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary for the June 19 crime. She was charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery for the June 27 crime.

Rodriguez was taken into custody December 8, 2016 and was sent to Warren County jail in lieu of $250,000.
