ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A school bus fire closed a section of Route 206 in Roxbury Twp. Tuesday morning.
At 10:07 a.m., township police responded to a report of a fully involved bus fire on Route 206 near The Market Place, police said.
There were no children on the Green Brook Board of Education bus and the driver was able to exit without any injuries, police said.
According to Roxbury Township Fire Official Mike Pellek, the fire originated in the engine of the bus.
The bus was reportedly going to Hoover Truck & Bus Centers on Gold Mine Road.
Route 206 was reopened around noontime.
Assisting at the scene was Roxbury Township Fire Company 1 and 2, Mount Olive Fire Marshall’s Office and Mount Olive Township Police.
