MORRIS PLAINS, NJ (Morris County) – A small earthquake occurred Saturday afternoon in Morris Plains, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake was reported shortly before 2:00 p.m., had a 1.3 magnitude and a depth of 6 kilometers, or about 3.7 miles. The epicenter was reported near the intersection Leamoor Dr and Sun Valley Way.
There were no reports of any damage.
Last year, four earthquakes occurred in February. A 1.6 magnitude quake occurred in Bloomingdale and three small quakes registering from a .1 to a .6 occurred in Kinnelon.
