FLANDERS, NJ (Morris County) – New Jersey Republican Rep. Leonard Lance answered a variety questions from voters, including Syria and Planned Parenthood, at a town hall meeting Wednesday night.
Lance met with hundreds of his constituents at Mount Olive High School in Mt Olive Township. There was a huge police presence inside and outside of the school. Ambulances, fire trucks, even DPW trucks filled with sand were stationed in front of the school.
Prior to the town hall meeting, there were many protesters outside the entrance to the school who were voicing their concerns over cuts to Planned Parenthood funding.
“I want two separate organizations for Planned Parenthood, one organization to deal with services around women’s health and another to perform abortion procedures,” Lance said.
The first question asked to Lance was about the release of President Trump’s tax returns. Lance answered by saying, “I’m reluctant to force the president to release his tax return, but I hope he will do so.”
Lance was also asked a question about Military actions in Syria. He said “I would likely support air strikes, but I don’t favor boots on the ground.”
When he was asked about President Trump’s health care bill, he said “You have my commitment that I won’t vote for any bill that in any way lessens coverage based on pre-existing conditions.”
This was his third town hall meeting since President Trump was inaugurated.
