BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Two people were charged Tuesday after they were allegedly found lying in the roadway drinking alcohol.
Township police received a call about a suspicious vehicle with a person standing by it in the cul-de-sac of Colby Dr, police said.
When officers arrived, they observed Nicolas B. Freeman of Byram Twp., NJ and Heather L. Van-Syckel of Lake Hiawatha, NJ laying on a blanket in the roadway, police said.
Both were in possession of and consumed alcoholic beverages in the roadway, police said.
Freeman and Van-Syckel were both charged with underage possession/consumption of alcoholic beverages and released pending a mandatory Andover-Joint Municipal Court date.
