WATCH: Police car nearly hit by vehicle involved in road rage incident

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Police offer tips after a vehicle involved in an alleged road incident nearly hit a police car and two other vehicles and it was all caught on a police dash cam.

At 4:00 p.m. on Monday, a town police officer was on routine patrol travelling north on Grand Ave. While the officer was travelling north, a 2012 Honda travelling south on Grand Ave passed another car over a double yellow line, police said.

As the vehicle was crossing over the double yellow line, the vehicle nearly hit two other vehicles travelling north and the police officer’s vehicle, police said.

The driver of the Honda, Terrylyn Fulper, 58, of Mansfield Twp, NJ, was subsequently stopped by police and issued summonses for careless driving, improper passing and failure to inspect, police said.

Fulper wanted to get alongside the other vehicle to tell the driver to pull over and discuss the alleged road rage incident, police said.

Police offer these tips if you’re involved in a road rage incident:

  • Call 911 if the situation looks like an emergency and appears it could end in something tragic.
  • Another option is dialing #77.
  • We don’t recommend trying to follow a road raging vehicle and playing cop.
  • If you can, try and get the make and model of the car, license plate and exact location.
  • Then back off and let the police do their jobs.
