Suspicious vehicle in a Washington Twp. park leads to 3 arrests

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Three Washington men were charged after police checked on a suspicious vehicle at a local park last week.

At 8:31 p.m, on July 6, township police checked on a suspicious motor vehicle that was parked in the Pohatcong Creek Natural Park, located on Mine Hill Road in Washington Township. A police investigation resulted in three men being charged, police said.

Benjamin Scheffer, 19, was charged with possession of an alcoholic beverage in a township park and maintaining a nuisance.

Michael Sorrentino, 21, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of an alcoholic beverage in a township park and maintaining a nuisance.

Scheffer and Sorrentino were released with mandatory court dates.

Hector Iglesias, 21, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of an alcoholic beverage in a township park and maintaining a nuisance. He was lodged in the Warren County Jail.
