INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Downed electrical wires in Independence Twp. is caused more than 500 customers to be without power Sunday morning.
At 4:48 a.m., power lines came down on Russling Rd between Tannery Rd and Highland Rd. A tree branch snapped and took down two power lines.
This is the second time in less than a week in which power lines have come down on Russling Road causing a power outage.
According to Jersey Central Power & Light, 449 customers are without power in Independence Township, 112 in Mansfield Township and 9 in Hackettstown.
Power has been restored to the affected areas.
