Woman charged with assault by auto, DWI after 2 hit-and-run crashes

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Mount Arlington woman is facing numerous charges after she was allegedly involved in two hit-and-run crashes Friday morning.

Bonnie Biville, 21, was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, endangering an injured victim and assault by auto, according to Jefferson Township Police Detective Joseph Kratzel.

At 8:43 a.m. a township officer responded to Minisink Road on a report of a struck pedestrian. The officer located a pedestrian who had suffered a head injury after being struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition at this time, Kratzel said.

Through a police investigation, it was revealed that Biville was operating a 2014 Jeep on Minisink Road and struck a motor vehicle. She then continued on Minisink Road, striking a pedestrian who was walking on the side of the road. She then fled the scene, Kratzel said.

A Mt. Arlington Police officer located Biville and she subsequently arrested, Kratzel said.

Biville was transported to Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.

This incident is still under investigation and anyone with information should contact the Jefferson Township Police Department, 973-697-1300.
