FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A small plane with three on board crashed and caught fire Saturday night in Franklin Township.
The Piper PA-28 aircraft went down about 1/2 mile northeast of Sky Manor Airport near Pittstown, NJ at 10:45 pm on Saturday, according to FAA spokesperson Kathleen Bergen.
The aircraft took off from Blairstown Airport with three people on board, Bergen said.
The aircraft registration that was located on the plane showed it’s registered to Kyle Dalrymple of Belvidere, NJ, according to the FAA registry.
Emergency crews responded to the 400 Block of Pittstown Road in Franklin Twp for a small plane crash with fire. Franklin Twp Police were on scene within a minute advising 3 trauma patients with an active fire, Quakertown Fire Company Facebook page said.
The pilot, Kyle Dalrymple, and two passengers Clinton Campbell and Wendy Race, were conscious and out of the aircraft when police officers arrived on scene, authorities said.
All 3 patients were transported to nearby Sky Manor Airport for air medevac to Morristown Medical Center and St Lukes Hospital in Fountain Hill, PA, according to the Quakertown Fire Company.
The FAA is investigating the crash and the NTSB will determine probable cause, Bergen said.
Assisting the Quakertown Fire Company/Rescue was the North Hunterdon mutual aid group squad, Hunterdon Medical Center paramedics, Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad, New Jersey State Police NorthSTAR, Atlantic Air One and Hunterdon County Office of Emergency Management.
