Pilot killed in Sussex County aircraft crash

GREEN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A pilot was killed when a plane crashed at a Green Township airport Sunday morning.

At 10:25 a.m., a NW-Freedom amateur-built aircraft crashed at the end of the runway at Trinca Airport, located on Airport Rd, according to FAA spokesperson Kathleen Bergen.

The pilot was the only person on board and was pronounced dead, according to New Jersey State Police.

The FAA is investigating the crash and the NTSB will determine probable cause, Bergen said.
