WASHINGTON BOROUGH, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County man was charged last month after he allegedly climbed a light pole near a local business.

At 2:27 a.m. on July 29, Washington Township police responded to Philbert’s Pub, located at 101 W. Washington Ave, for the report of a suspicious person climbing a light pole, police said in a news release Tuesday.

When police arrived on scene, the officers observed Alonzo Widenor Jr, 24, of Oxford allegedly climbing up the light pole, police said.

Widenor was taken into custody without incident and charged with a local ordinance of maintaining a nuisance. He was processed and released with a mandatory court date, police said.
