MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Husband and wife are both facing an assault charge after they allegedly hit each other with a belt Sunday afternoon.
At 2:20 p.m., township police responded to a residence on the report of a physical domestic dispute, police said in a news release Tuesday
Police determined that an argument , which turned physical, was between a husband and wife, police said.
The female allegedly struck her husband in the arm with a belt causing swelling and abrasions, police said.
The male then allegedly took the belt away and struck his wife on the back several times which caused swelling and abrasions, police said.
The 32-year-old female and the 31-year-old male were both charged with simple assault. The male was also wanted out of Camden on a $100.00 warrant. Both were processed and released pending a court appearance, police said.
Police didn’t release the names of the individuals who were charged.
