Retired Hackettstown High School teacher gets special honor (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – For years, children wishing to check out a book at Hackettstown High School went to the library.

Now, they peruse the collection at the Patricia Miller Media Center. It’s a 21st Century, State-of-the-Art Media Center to enhance student’s educational experience.

The new name honors the teacher who has devoted 49 years to educating students. The renaming was completed in style with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a sign unveiling Tuesday evening.

Miller is a long time Independence resident, an iconic Biology teacher at our high school and former Great Meadows Board of Education member and Board President.

“My students as a teacher, they made me so happy. If I’m good it’s because the students I’ve had,” Miller said.

Miller taught at Hackettstown High School from 1968 through 2017.

She touched and influenced so many generations of students from Hackettstown, Independence, Liberty and Allamuchy Townships that her mark will forever be left on the school.

“Hackettstown has produced wonderful people and I’m lucky enough to have them,” Miller said.

“You’ll be with us forever,”  Superintendent of Schools Great Meadows Regional and Hackettstown Public Schools David C. Mango said.
