Jim Sheldon, the Executive Director of the Hackettstown Business Improvement District stopped by the RNJ Morning Program to announce the winner of the Hackettstown BID’s Scarecrow Contest. Jim told Morning Mike that 22 businesses throughout town participated, lining the streets with scarecrows with a sports theme. After votes were tallied from the BID Events Committee, Steve’s Pit Stop came out as the winner. Their clever scarecrow as a member of a NASCAR pit crew edged out the Dog Sled Team from Tickner’s. As the winner, Steve’s Pit Stop receives a package of fifty (50) thirty-second commercials on RNJ. Shoppers were also invited to participate by taking selfies with the various scarecrows. Bonnie Stanics took a photo with the Tickner’s Dog Sled Team and received the most votes on Facebook, winning $25 in BID Bucks.
