SUSSEX BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – New Jersey State Police are looking for a man that allegedly broke into a Chinese restaurant in Sussex County last week.
On Monday, November 6, at 5:24 a.m., the suspect entered the Grand Eastern Chinese Restaurant, located on East Main Street in Sussex Borough, through the front door, state police said.
He was captured on video surveillance removing money from the register and then leaving. He returned a few minutes later, removed money from the tip jar, and then proceeded to wipe down areas where he may have left fingerprints, state police said.
In spite of his fingerprint wiping antics, state police managed to capture a few surveillance stills that shows his face and the sweatshirt he was wearing, which has a distinctive logo on the back, state police said.
“We’re hoping someone recognizes one or both and is able to provide our detectives with tips,” state police said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Jersey State Police Sussex Station at (973) 383-1514.
