On a snowy Thursday morning, Morning Mike appreciated a visit from Allen Hay, a member of Musconetcong Lodge #42 Free and Accepted Masons in Budd Lake. This Lodge is participating in the National Wreaths Across America Day, Saturday, December 16th. Members of the Lodge and volunteers will be laying wreaths in the First Presbyterian Church of Hackettstown Cemetery on Main Street. They will begin with a brief ceremony around 11:15 a.m. and conclude with the laying of the wreaths at Noon. Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony begun at Arlington National Cemetery by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992. The organization’s mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as at hundreds of veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.
