HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Three suspicious fires that have occurred this year in Hunterdon County are currently under investigation, according to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski, West Amwell Township Police Department OIC DSG. Edward Skillman, and Lambertville City Police Director Bruce Coccuza announced that the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, West Amwell Township Police Department, Lambertville City Police Department, and the New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office.
On November 13, a structure fire occurred at the ABC Supply Company, located at 1496 Route 179, Lambertville. An investigation by the Hunterdon County Arson Task Force, West Amwell Police Department, Lambertville City Police Department and New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office led to the determination that the fire was intentionally set, Kearns said.
Then on November 30, a structure fire occurred on Buttonwood Street in Lambertville. The fire is under investigation and has been deemed suspicious, Kearns said.
On December 13, a structure fire occurred at 180 Main Street, Lambertville. An investigation by the Hunterdon County Arson Task Force, Lambertville City Police Department and New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office led to the determination that the fire was intentionally set, Kearns said.
All of the buildings involved in the fires were unoccupied structures typically used as warehouses and garages, Kearrns said.
“Citizens should be aware of their surrounding and report any suspicious activity to 911. Anyone with information regarding these investigations are urged to contact the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at (908) 788-1129,” Kearns said.
