Just before Christmas, Morning Mike welcomed Mike Sciancalepore to the RNJ Morning Program. Mike is the manager of Marty’s Reliable Cycle in Hackettstown. In spite of the fact that we are heading into the cold winter month, Mike said now is the time to start thinking about spring cycling – specifically with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). Founded nationally in 2009, Marty’s brought NICA to New Jersey and sponsors a team in Morristown. It’s for youth in grades six through 12 and everybody rides in competition – there’s no setting on the bench. The New Jersey Interscholastic Cycling League is one of 19 leagues across the country, organizing a mountain bike racing league for middle and high school student athletes. Above all, they are a youth development organization, whose goal it is to build strong body, strong mind and strong character in student athletes, with an unwavering focus on inclusivity and equality.

Mike invited anyone interested to contact him at Marty’s Reliable Cycle, 251 Main Street, Hackettstown. The phone number is 908-852-1650. You can learn more about Marty’s Reliable Cycle through their website, and you can find out more about NICA in New Jersey here.
