On a recent edition of the RNJ Morning Program, Morning Mike opened the guest mic to Hackettstown High School student Emily Valentino, to tell us about a very special project she is working on. Through her contact and hard work, Tim Tebow’s national “Night To Shine” event is coming to Hackettstown on Friday, February 9th. Emily explained that Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On one night, February 9, 2018, more than 500 churches from around the world will come together to host Night to Shine for approximately 90,000 honored guests through the support of 175,000 volunteers!

With the help of her mother, Lisa Valentino, the Director of Youth Ministry at the Church of the Assumption in Hackettstown, Emily applied for and received a grant to hold an event at the Minebrook Golf Club in Hackettstown. The night features limo rides, flowers, hair and nail salons, shoe shines, and, of course, food, music and dancing for a prom night experience.

You can learn more about the national “Night To Shine” event on the website for the Tim Tebow Foundation. And, if you would like to donate, volunteer, participate, or recommend a young person with special needs to attend, you can email Emily directly at emilyvalentino3357@gmail.com. You can also call the office at the Church of the Assumption in Hackettstown, 908-852-3320.
