MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Budd Lake man is facing charges after he allegedly pulled out a handgun and threatened a pub manager Wednesday evening.
Patrick J. Hanright, 34, was charged with possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of weapons, terroristic threats, DWI, and reckless driving.
On December 20, at 7:13 p.m., Officer Gardner responded to Kennedy’s Pub, located at 112 Route 46, for the report of a male with a gun. When Officers arrived, they were advised that the male had left the pub, possibly in a vehicle, police said.
The pub manager told officers that he and the male were standing outside and the manager advised him that he was too intoxicated to drive, and he would be calling a cab to take the male home. He then stated that the male pulled a handgun out of his jacket pocket, and threatened him with it. The manager re-entered the pub and locked him outside, police said.
Police were provided with the information on the debit card that he used to pay his bill and based on the name on the card, the male was tentatively identified as Hanright, police said.
Police searched the area and finally located Hanright, at his Vasa Park residence, sitting in the driver’s seat of his 2002 Saab which was parked in the driveway, police said.
Officer Gardner and Detective Hunter Guiles removed Hanright from the vehicle at gunpoint, where he was taken into custody without incident, police said.
A handgun was subsequently located within the pocket of Hanright’s jacket, which he was wearing at the time of the arrest. He was then transported to police headquarters, police said.
Hanright was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.
