WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A 20-year-old Long Valley man is facing multiple charges including driving while intoxicated following a three-car crash on New Year’s Day.
At 8:31 a.m., township police responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 400 block of Naughright Road. Upon the arrival of Patrol Officer Scott Myers he located three vehicles involved in the crash, police said.
A police investigation determined that the Honda Accord which was being operated by Matthew Krueger was traveling South on Naughright Road and crossed over the centerline for unknown reason and first struck a Audi SUV then a Mercury Sedan, which were both traveling North on Naughright Rd, police said.
Krueger was still in his vehicle and was extricated out of his vehicle by the Long Valley First Aid Squad, police said.
The operator and passengers of the other vehicles involved were able to exit their vehicles on their own. They were treated at the scene by Long Valley First Aid Squad and did not require further medical attention, police said.
Krueger was transported to Morristown Medical Center by the Long Valley First Aid Squad for head and internal injuries, police said.
Krueger was charged with failure to keep right, failure to maintain Lane, reckless driving, Obstruction of other vehicles, DWI and DWI under the legal age. HE has a pending court appearance in Washington Township Municipal Court.
Assisting at the scene was Detective Sergeant Brian Szymanski of the Washington Township Detective Bureau, Sergeant James Burns of the Washington Township Emergency Services Unit, Long Valley First Aid Squad, Long Valley Fire Departments, Advanced Medical Technicians from Saint Clair’s Hospital and Morris County Sheriff’s Department.
