2 adults, 2 children displaced after fire in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Two adults and two children were forced out of their apartment by a fire Tuesday evening.

Firefighters were called to 312 Church St, 2nd floor apartment, for a report of smoking coming from an electrical outlet shortly after 11:40 p.m., police said.

 When officers arrived on scene, the apartment was fully engulfed in flames and the residents were already evacuated, police said.

There were no injuries, police said.

Four people were displaced from the apartment and were assisted by the American Red Cross, police said

The cause of the fire is undetermined and there was no evidence to indicate that the fire was intentionally set. The investigation was conducted by the Hackettstown Police Detective Bureau and the Mount Olive Fire Marshal, police said.

Assisting the Hackettstown Fire Department and the Hackettstown Rescue Squad were the Hackettstown Fire Police, Tri-County Fire Company, Independence Twp. Fire Department, Washington Boro Fire Department, Budd Lake Fire Department and the Hackettstown Department of Public Works.
