JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Police are looking for a man who unlawfully entered a home and then fled after he saw the homeowner lying on the couch Tuesday morning.
At around 11:00 a.m., an unidentified male unlawfully entered a residence, located on Berkshire Valley Road, in the Oak Ridge section of Jefferson Township. Jefferson Township Police Detective Joseph Kratzel said.
The man entered through an unlocked rear door and no force was used to enter the residence, Kratzel said.
Once inside the residence, the unidentified man observed the homeowner lying on the couch and then ran out the same door he entered. The man drove away in a silver/gray colored Volkswagen Sedan towards Route 15, Kratzel said.
Patrols checked the area and were unable to locate the man. No similar incidents as of this date have been reported, Kratzel said.
The man was described as an Asian, 5’10”, wearing a black hat and hoodie. No pictures or further descriptions of the male or vehicle are available at this time, Kratzel said.
