On a Monday edition of the RNJ Morning Program, Morning Mike welcomed Amy Petrie to Studio #1, so she could tell us about four scholarships being offered by “Friends and Neighbors.” The organization, founded in 1977, is comprised of over 80 women from Warren county and surrounding area. The Friends and Neighbors organization, as part of its community service program, holds fund-raising events throughout the year and then distributes that money to local community service groups.
This year, Friends and Neighbors is offering one $1,000 and three $500 scholarships to New Jersey female students ages 25 and up. Petrie noted that the group is interested in helping women who are either returning to school to complete their education, or are beginning higher learning to develop new careers.
