3 arrested after NJ State Police find $12K worth of heroin in crashed car

KNOWLTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Three people were arrested after police found $12,000 worth of heroin in a crashed car in Knowlton Township.

Azaiah Baynard, 21, of East Orange, N.J., Briauna Brown-Harrison, 21, of Perth Amboy, N.J., and Jamar Montalmant, 20, of Newark, N.J. were all charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Montalmant was also charged with possession of paraphernalia and had an active arrest warrant.

On Sunday, February 4, at 7:44 p.m., New Jersey State Police responded to the report of an overturned car on Interstate 80 westbound at milepost 7.6 in Knowlton Township. When troopers arrived, they discovered that neither the driver nor the occupants of the car sustained any injuries, police said.

During the on-scene investigation, troopers allegedly located 60 bricks of heroin worth $12,000 within the car and arrested all three, police said.

All three were lodged at the Warren County Jail on no bail warrants.
