NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County man has entered a guilty plea to multiple charges including burglaries that occurred in Sussex and Warren Counties, the prosecutor’s office said.
Daniel O’Bryan, 48, of Sandyston Township pled guilty to second-degree burglary, nine counts of third-degree burglary, six counts of third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary, nine counts of third-degree theft, third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, third-degree criminal mischief, five counts of third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and fourth-degree illegal transport of a weapon before the Honorable N. Peter Conforti, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on Tuesday.
O’Bryan allegedly admitted in 2016 he burglarized multiple homes in Sandyston, Montague, Wantage, Hampton, Frankford and Branchville in Sussex County and White Township in Warren County in April of 2017. Various items were taken from these homes, including but not limited to, generators, weapons, cash, televisions, cameras and jewelry.
He also admitted to transporting the weapons to Paterson with his co-defendants, where he exchanged them for drugs.
Sentencing is presently scheduled for April 20, 2018.
