MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Long Valley man is facing multiple charges including DWI following a two-vehicle crash Friday evening, police said.
Adam E. Clymer, 34, was charged with under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, DWI, reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane.
At 6:00 p.m., township police responded to the area of Route 46 and Church Street for the report of a two car motor vehicle accident, with a 2003 BMW overturned in the roadway, police said.
Officer Jadue made contact with the driver of a 2010 Toyota who was uninjured and the vehicle had heavy front end damage, police said.
Clymer, who was the driver of a 2003 BMW, was entrapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Budd Lake Fire Department, police said.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the BMW struck the curb as it was traveling west on Route 46, overturned, and traveled into the east bound lanes of the highway, where it collided with the Toyota, police said.
Once Clymer was extricated from the vehicle, Officer Jadue observed him to be impaired, specifically under the influence of a narcotic, police said
Clymer was treated at the scene by Atlantic EMS and St. Clare’s Hospital Paramedics. He was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries, police said.
After Clymer was discharged from the hospital, he was transported to police headquarters. He was released to a sober driver pending a court hearing.
