MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Authorities are investigating the death of a 6-month-old girl from Budd Lake, according to Morris County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Peter DiGennaro.
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a medical call Wednesday morning at the Eagle Rock Village Apartments regarding the infant who was born in August 2017.
The baby was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center and subsequently pronounced deceased, DiGennaro said.
A witness told RNJ that she observed the apartment being aired out and police were entering the dwelling with face masks.
“This remains an active investigation, and is pending a final determination by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Cause and Manner are currently pending,” DiGennaro said.
DiGennaro did not comment on whether the investigation is criminal in nature or influenza related.
