HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hackettstown High School seniors Alex Carida and Joe Andes both won a Region 3 championship title this past weekend in West Orange and now head to the State Championship.
Alex Carida defeated Travis Tavoso of Delbarton School, 2-1, at 145 pounds.
This is Carida’s second Region 3 championship and his record now is at 136.
Carida and Patrick Glory of Delbarton School both received the outstanding wrestler award.
Joe Andes defeated Ryan Knox of Randolph High School in a 1:54 pin at 285 pounds.
Carida and Andes will wrestle in the State Championship this weekend in Atlantic City.
