CHESTER, NJ (Morris County) – A 13-year-old student has been charged following an alleged security threat towards the community last week.
The student will be charged with disorderly conduct and creating a false public alarm, police said.
Police were notified Thursday of a possible security threat to the community involving the student, police said in a news release Monday.
The alleged threat was immediately investigated and deemed not to be credible, police said.
“The Chester Police Department tales school and community safety very seriously. We are continuously working with the Chester School District and its administration on ways to protect our children and the community,” police said.
Police were unable to release any further information on the incident.
