VERNON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Four people were injured following a crash involving two cars in Vernon Township Monday afternoon.
At 3:52 p.m., township police responded to a two car motor vehicle crash at the intersection of County Route 517 and Maple Grange Road, police said.
Two occupants in the first vehicle were transported by ambulance to Newton Memorial Hospital, police said.
The driver of the second vehicle was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ and the passenger was airlifted to Morristown Memorial Hospital, police said.
The names were not released.
Assisting at the scene were the Glenwood Pochuck Ambulance Squad, Vernon Township Ambulance Squad, Vernon Township Fire Department, McAfee Fire Department, Pochuck Fire Department, St. Claire’s BLS and Paramedics ALS.
The investigation is being conducted by the Vernon Township Police Detective Bureau, Sussex County Prosecutors Office, and the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department CRASH Team.
